JUST THE FACTS

Dan Bengel
Hello there, maybe you found this site by luck, or maybe I told you about it. Whatever the case may be, welcome! This is not some fancy blog, with me posting on it all day, but one that has "just the facts". You know, the important things in life. The tap list, events coming up, and specials. Yeah, I'm even going to comment on some of the stuff I will be doing here. So grab a beer and relax, the show is getting ready to start.

THE SESSION REPORT DAY THREE

12:17 p.m. Exactly 12 hours earlier, I helped Del, from Deep Pond Brewing, escape the evil clutches of what every man loves and fears: PBS or private beer stash. Oh, it starts innocently enough, but the next thing you know the sun is coming up and you forgot to bring milk home for the kids. Inside the bar, the victims of an earlier plague, the deadly "Grand Cru", were strewn about. Glasses were piled high and the numerous empty bottles told me Santa was indeed there. As the cleanup began and the combatants were putting the finishing touches on the BBQ, I attempted to go into Keg Mountain. Lucky for me that John had on some hiking gear or I might have been lost in a Belgian crevice. Moments later, Sara "Rocks" hightail it into town after a nice bike ride to find her car and phone from the night before. After a quick breakfast of pizza and a energy drink, she was back up to speed. At 1:15 the first fine folks of the day showed up, and by 3, the place was moving and grooving. The brewing dignitaries were there as well as the beer press. Though we didn't get to our 25, we did get a right smart number which includes : Weyerbacher Blanche, Church Brew Works Dunkel, Legacy Midnight Wit, Rock Bottom Czech Mate Pils, East End Brewing Fat Gary Ale, Brooklyn Brown Ale, Flying Fish Farmhouse Summer Ale, General Lafayette's Churchill's Mild, Allagash White, Stoudts Weizen, Union Barrel Works Kolsch, Sly Fox British Pale Ale, Legacy Reading Pilsner, Dogfish Shelter Pale Ale, Nodding Head Berliner Weisse, East End Brewing Wheat Hop, Iron Hill Belgian Pale Ale in cask, along with Nodding Head Prudence Pale Ale and All Night Ale also in cask. Oh and our extreme beer Oud Beersel Framboise for a grand total of twenty beers. Not to shabby for the first time around. The grand winner of the smoke off in a messy vote was Scott"Euphoria" Baver. The Legacy folks get to come to Northside later in the year for a very special vertical tasting night. All in all, A great day! See you again next year maybe?
